Checkpoint Introduces Windlight RFID Label for Retail Cosmetic, Other Merchandise Visibility Applications

Mid-Size Label Boasts Industry’s Best Read Range, Fastest Encoding Speed, Outstanding Data Integrity Using Impinj’s Monza R6-P Chip


PHOENIX – May 9, 2017 – Checkpoint Systems, Inc. (NYSE:CKP), a leading global supplier of EAS and RFID solutions for the retail industry, today announced here at RFID Journal Live its Windlight RFID label for cosmetics categories and many other merchandise visibility applications.

The new label features the use of Impinj’s Monza® R6-P RAIN RFID tag chip, which is optimized for serializing items such as apparel, electronics, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, jewelry and various other products. The chips support privacy, loss-prevention and brand protection capabilities for retailers and brand owners. Monza R6-P also delivers the industry’s best read range, fastest encoding speed and outstanding data integrity.

Windlight is smaller than Checkpoint’s recently introduced Wind label, and works with a range of systems, including hand held, as well as increasingly sought after fixed readers such as Checkpoint’s Wirama based Point of Exit (PoE) pedestals (E10 2.0). It features an inlay size of 43mm x 18mm with a label size of 45mm x 30mm, which is midrange for some of the popular apparel form factors. It is ISO18000-6C compliant and can be can be encoded and printed to carry EPC data in several formats, including RFID EPC air protocol, printed bar code and human readable text.
